Summary Intermediate

In this scenario, you have been asked to counsel a patient on the correct use of a once-daily basal insulin pen (Lantus SoloStar, insulin glargine 100 units/ml). Your counselling should cover preparation of the pen, injection technique, injection site rotation, advice on hypoglycaemia, safe disposal of sharps and maintenance/storage of device.

Please ensure this scenario aligns with the most up to date guidelines from the UK NICE and the BNF. You will need a student pharmacist and an actor for this OSCE station.
